Overall, this has been a gratifying experience using WordPress. I think it is easy to manage and navigate. I do feel its has a friendly interface. I have used WordPress in the past to build a site for the content I have written specifically for class. Also, I did sign up for Wix and started using this web application. I mainly used it because I wanted to display my work in a fashionable and creative manner.
With how significant technology is in our world today, I know that it is something that I will need to utilize in my future classroom. However, I typically take a while to fully grasp how to use new websites, such as WordPress. Overall, I feel as though I am catching on to how the Module Reflections are to be completed. It makes it simple to communicate with one another in order to share ideas about the content we are studying/writing. I struggled a little bit with the Contributors page just because it is set up a bit different than the Module Reflections, but I hope to become more and more confident with utilizing such a helpful website throughout this course and hopefully in the future as well!
This is my first-time using WordPress. This website is a do-it-yourself product, and I am still trying to figure out how it works. I must admit it took me a while to log on and post my first assignment. However, I think I have figured it out enough to post my work. I do feel as if I make some confusing errors. For example, I think I put my first post in the reply section of one of my classmate’s comments. I do feel I was able to figure out Blackboard much quicker than this website we are currently using to complete our assignments. I am hopeful that as the semester progresses, I will continue to get better at using WordPress.
I have many years of experience using WordPress and other CMSs, from building new sites to managing sites and facilitating special integrations like member logins, spread sheet exports, forms and payments. However, it has been done mostly out of necessity. It is not enjoyable to me, as I have severe ADHD. Thus, I click through so quickly, that I find myself in repetitive loops. Ultimately, my goal is to budget for a CRM specialist. However, for now, I’ll bumble my way through and be grateful to learn any techniques that could help me streamline my sometimes chaotic process.
I’ve don’t remember ever using WordPress. But I love the fact WordPress code can be modified to fit your project and there are no fees involved. It’s also good to know that WordPress has support forums manned by volunteers. I also love the fact that web browser compatibility is built in and web design with WordPress is a no-brainer with many theme choices, tools and features that help create beautiful web designs. The plug-n-play features seem easy to navigate. The fact that WordPress code is compatible with new browsers solves any compatibility issues one may face in regard to website display. To have your work accessible in 70 other languages is also pretty amazing. Another amazing feature is that it’s not dependent on a web hosting company which allows users to control their own data. It’s also handy that WordPress offers a media management library that allows for easy media upload as well as media inserts. Being able to categorize and group content together allows for easy organization and management of your site. WordPress also allows for audience engagement through their comments section
